New investigators

 District council day!

This week has been really good! We got three new investigators and really stepped up our game after committing to President Hall that we would baptize monthly... President Hall expects it and The Lord expects it. I'll talk a little bit about our new investigators. The first one we met knocking doors in a neighborhood and he is really interested and enjoyed the little restoration message we taught him. The other two are a father and son. It was funny we were trying to teach him about the restoration but he kept saying " guys you don't understand, I wan't a church that is there only to teach about God and Jesus" and we kept telling him this is the church you want then! He finally understood after a second of trying to convince him about it lol. It's been a really good week, I've seen God's hand in my life every single day. I've been thinking a lot about diligence this week and how I can hasten The Lord's work in this area of the vineyard. This is the time to be working hard, we can't procrastinate t
he Lord's work. He is going to keep moving it along no matter what. Are we going to be able to keep up? Let's all start stepping it up a little bit more in every aspect of our lives, missionary work, scripture study, school work, standing for what you believe, continuing on the straight and narrow, etc.

Learning to SIT

Hola! Well this week has been pretty good. We had Elder Zwick of the Presidency of the 70 come down to drop some bombs on us. Basically we need to step it up, and our members reallyyyyyy need to step it up. We learned that we need to SIT ( Simplify, Intensify, and Testify) in everything we do. Nothing much other than that happened, we had a car for a few days so that was really nice, we had a lot of flat tires, we cut down a tree in a very sketchy manner (mom, ignore the sketchy manner part) and worked A LOT with our members this week. Spanish is coming along just fine still thanks to heavenly help. The time flies so quickly still, I can't believe I'm coming up on 6 months away from home! Until next P-Day,

New Investigators, Sickness, and close calls.

Elder Woodbury taking a break from doors being slammed/not opened

Well this week has been kinda rough. Monday was good, super chill but I was pretty sick starting Wednesday and that put us out of action till Friday. Kinda super lame but sickness happens when you shake hands with sick Hispanics all the day long. We did however pick up 2 new investigators on Monday and Tuesday! One is a really nice girl with a family and a cute dog, she seems to have a really good understanding of life and grasps easily what we teach her. She tries to read the Bible every day and is down to hear more about Mormons! The other is a middle age feller who is from Mexico. Super nice guy who shares a lot of the same beliefs we do!

Elder Smith had his breaks go out (again) when we were 5 miles from the church and the church being where we can get repairs...so...we biked...without breaks...5 miles to the church...during rush hour...on a busy street. All was going well until we came to a cross walk in which we waited until the sign turned green for us to go, so we went and about got smacked by this very smart man texting and driving. Thankfully cars these days have automatic brakes when it senses something in front of it. Elder Smith came very, very, very close to a hospital visit. **smiles/chuckles in remembrance** SO yeah angels are legit and I love modern technology. I love this work so much even though it sucks some days but I wouldn't rather be anywhere else right now! God is there, just give Him a little call and He will answer.
Love,

Angels are with us...

Riding the kids train at the zoo
Whewwwww, it's been a crazy week! We went to the Zoo last P-Day and golly gee that was a ton of fun to be able to get out of our area for the day and head to Downtown Houston. A member, took us and and bought us food and paid for everything thank heavens.

The rest of the week has been a little nuts, we've had some weird weather again, tons of wind mostly, I finished up training this week, we had a member pass-away, a massive dog tried to eat us, cars tried to squish us, and our investigators are progressing!

One of our investigators is a very good man who is trying to turn his life around is finally progressing after not being able to see him for about a month. He came to church yesterday and turns out he knows an investigator of the other elders in our district! Fellow-shipping at its finest. He is super receptive to the Restoration and said "well yeah why wouldn't there be a prophet today?" so yeah we'll baptize him, only problem is he's on probation...till august...and we can't baptize him until he is finished with that.

**pondering about what I should say next** ahhh yes the massive dog that tried to eat us. We were riding along Old Richmond at night when we saw this MASSIVE German Shepherd off the side of the road, well it saw us and started running at us and barking crazy like but stopped dead in its tracks and couldn't go further, it jumped around and tried to come at us again but it couldn't get any closer. I testify of the reality of angels on this earth protecting each and every one of us. I realize it's a simple story but boy that dog could have done some serious damage if it could have got to us. I also testify of the importance of prayer, but not just prayer, sincere prayer. Our investigators have seen this in their lives and I see it everyday in my life. I love this work and this Church is in fact true!
Hasta proximo p-dia,
